Back-to-School Shopping | Online Stores Near and Far

Now that, the summer is almost at an end, Canadian parents will be venturing to the Mall to refresh their children’s wardrobes for the new school year. In the ever expanding world of online shopping, parents will this year be looking more to the online stores for their back-to-school shopping? They look for that one-stop shopping experience, favorable discounts and more importantly inventory availability.

Both Mack and Carys are pupils in the Toronto Catholic school system, which made back-to-school shopping easier by adopting compulsory school uniforms last year. There are of course a handful of stores like Old Navy, Children’s Place and the uniform specialist R.J. McCarthy where one can get uniforms, but this year my wife tried a different route. She ventured outside Canada, taking advantage of a favorable exchange rate and fixed fee shipping cost, shopping at the trusty old British staple of Marks and Spencer’s. They sell quality clothes advertized to endure the hustle and bustle of the school yard at prices that even with shipping and duty are cheaper than the stores in Canada.

I have provided a link to their online store allowing browsing through what they offer. Marks and Spencers

We now have family and friends in Canada shopping at Marks and Spencer’s. The feedback is extremely positive including fifteen pound (approx $24) shipping for everything, approximately 10 day shipping time and some have paid tax while others have not (but strongly recommend you budget for duty)
